Gartmore Dam

Penny and I went out to Gartmore Dam on Sunday, and took a 3 hour walk around the dam. It was a great opportunity to check out some of the local wildlife! It was also a good chance for me to really get used to my new lens. Some potentially great photo's which unfortunately turned out a bit blurry. Penny took a few good photies as well. I've still got some learning to do with my new lens!!

We came across a foal which was quite wobbly legged, still...maybe a day old or so? Then again we're not vets who knows.

Awww, ain't he cute?

The monkeyfaced pony...freaky eh?

Nesting Swan, I've never seen this before

A cool wee plant

Disappointed that this one didn't turn out sharp enough...a spider eating a fly...how cool! Well, not for the fly.

Another disappointment, too blurry as well...but I liked the flower and the spider.

This one turned out pretty good though, a wee newt/salamander, the first one I've found in Scotland...well Penny found it, pretty awesome.

Busy bee!

This is a cool photo, check out his eyes at the ends of his stalks!

Penny's photo of the spider

Good wee photie of a honey bee

I liked this one as well... good one Pen!

A different flower that I hadn't seen before

Eh, you, got any grass?
